AMICROSYS
wrote: Code Red is the true return to form that 'Til Death Do Us Unite
was prematurely hailed as. Recorded at Harris Johns' brand new
Spiderhouse Studio, this is the best sounding Sodom record since Better
Off Dead. The playing is incredibly tight, and it's clear that this is
the most solid lineup since the Blackfire days. Bobby's drumming in
particular is a roaring, intense affair that proves him to be the best
drummer SODOM has ever had. The songs are all heavy and thrashy, and
the punk influence is all but gone. This album is notably lacking a
cover song and any songs sung in German. This is the first album since
Tapping the Vein that doesn't feature both, and the first since
Obsessed by Cruelty that has neither! This is a great record from the
masters of German thrash, and one that should definitely gain them a
lot of new fans and win back a lot of lost ones.

Auszug: Are
you finished now with the recordings? How long have you been at his
Studio ("Music Lab"?)? Did you stayed there overnight? You even have
kitchen and TV there, everythin very nice.
Harris Johns doesn´t has MUSIC LAB STUDIOS anymore. A few years ago he moved to SPIDERHOUSE STUDIO where we spent 2 weeks in May-June 2001. We felt comfortable, we had kitchen, TV,
sleeping rooms etc. We are satisfied.
Harris
Johns is one of the most important thrash-producers of Germany.
KREATOR, SODOM, TANKARD, GRAVE DIGGER know what magic he can do. I know
you dont like to label your music style but Harris Johns (Music Lab) is
really wellknown for its thrash-productions. Why did you decide to
record the new album in Berlin and not in Czech?
We
got a chance from Morbid Records to spend more money these time and we
decided for Harris because he is really experienced and famous metal
producer. Even the meeting with him is an experience you will never
forget!

CRYOGENIC - Celephais (Solistitium Recs.) found at: Seventh Sign Magazine
....You
won't listen to something new in the black metal era but one thing is
for sure: the music, these guys play, is very well played. In the 50
min. of this cd you 'll listen to dreamy-atmospheric but also chaotic
black metal full of beautifull synths and melodies. They reminded me a
lot of EMPEROR "Nightside Eclipse" days with the fast and slow parts as
also the melodic acoustic parts. I can't find something I don't like as
all the instruments and vocals are very well played, filled with very
beautiful female vocals wich makes the whole result apo-world. The
production is the best for their music and it's done by Harris Johns
(KREATOR, SODOM, KRISIUN etc.). In other words this release is suitable
for blacksters who likes EMPEROR, LIMBONIC ART and in general
atmospheric black metal and for me is one of the best releases I heard
last time and for sure I 'll listen it many times again. Majestic
release.

NOX INTEMPESTA (GER) - "Damnanus * Dominum"
[CD 1998, Folter Records]
Hell
yeah, Nox Intempesta are back! This band is actually one of my biggest
hopes for the German underground Metal scene. Those guys from Berlin
have developed their very own style quickly and present very fast and
extreme Metal with high technical standard. Luckily it is not one of
those Dark Funeral rip-offs that just put you to sleep after the third
song, but really original sounding aggression with an intelligent
concept and performed with passion. "Damnanus * Dominum" is 'only'
their first full length album but each of the ten songs sounds really
powerful (thanks Harris Johns!) like a thunderstorm breaking in on
you.....

"Damnanus
Dominum" was recorded, mixed and pre-mastered by the legend Harris
Johns at his new Spiderhouse Studio. The recording went very well, the
studio was really the best choice for us
OPPROBRIUM

Why did you record the album in Brasil and how did the recording process go?
We
tried to avoid this typical Morrisound sound by recording in another
surrounding. We choose a Brasilian studio to get this other environment
and also combined it visiting some relatives in Brasil. The recording
sessions went very well. Harris Johns is an excellent producer; we can
recomment him to everyone. Markus, owner of Nuclear Blast, visited us
in the studio and was satisfied as well.
Remark: Mixed at the Spiderhouse...

SODOM, Code Red, Drakkar Rec./BMG
Jawoll!! Sodom are Back!

NIGHT IN GALES http://home.balcab.ch/renewal/reviews/nightingalesnecrodynamic.htm
Beides
